I have always aspired to be more like the Townsend women. They are wives, mothers, entrepreneurs, chefs, scrapbookers, seamstresses, home school teachers, and hostesses. Each of these amazing women have been on my mind this season more than ever for a few reasons; one, I miss them and wish they were here; and secondly, I NEED THEIR HELP! The ideal Christmas to me is to be able to host family and friends with a perfectly clean and well-decorated house, appetizers aplenty, enough Christmas candy and cookies to make you sick, and dinner to die for. This is no problem for any of the Townsend women (even on short notice and on a budget!), and that got me thinking. Sure, they are talented, but is it really the genes that gave them this talent? I think not (and that is why even the married-in-to Townsend is the same way). I would have to say that what they have is a heart of a servant- that is what sets the Townsend women apart.
I have already received my Christmas gift from each one of them; the memories, the “tricks of the trade” that they have passed down throughout the years, and most importantly- the legacy of a servant’s heart. I will continue to aspire to be in the company of the Townsend women, but it is no small feat.

Awesome post! I thought of my grandma while reading it. It describes her to a 'T'! Thanks for updating the blog.
